DPR Magar of Nepal to the UN Attends the Substantive Session of Ad Hoc Working Group on Smooth Transition

Kathmandu: Gyan Bahadur Magar, Deputy Permanent Representative of Nepal to the UN in New York, attended the first Substantive Session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Smooth Transition. He spoke on behalf of LDC Group that LDCs remain committed to the path of graduation and sustainable development despite global uncertainty.

He further stressed that graduation must be a milestone of progress—not a cliff edge. That a comprehensive assessment of existing international support measures is essential to ensure predictable finance, market access and capacity-building. Graduation implications from loss of LDC-specific assistance & practical challenges in designing and implementing smooth transition strategies need to be addressed sooner than later.
