Kathmandu: UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) President Lok Bahadur Thapa held a meeting with the Permanent Representative of Ecuador to the United Nations, Andrés Montalvo Sosa on February 3.
During the meeting, the two exchanged views on ECOSOC’s role in advancing sustainable development and inclusive multilateralism. Discussions also focused on ECOSOC’s priorities for 2026 and ways to strengthen ECOSOC and the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) in the context of the UN General Assembly’s review of ECOSOC and the HLPF, as well as the UN80 Initiative.
