Kathmandu: Lok Bahadur Thapa, UN ECOSOC President, gave his heartfelt congratulations to Khalilur Rahman on his election as the President of the UN General Assembly at its 81st session.
President Thapa stated that as the international community works to accelerate progress on the 2030Agenda amid growing global challenges, strong leadership and effective multilateral cooperation will be more important than ever. He wished the PGA-elect every success in guiding the work of the General Assembly.
The Nepal Mission to the UN also gave their heartfelt congratulations to President Rahman on his new position. They stated to look forward to working closely with him under his leadership to further strengthen multilateralism, foster international cooperation, and advance our shared aspirations for peace, sustainable development, and human dignity.
The mission also expressed their sincere appreciation to Annalena Baerbock for her dedicated leadership and stewardship during the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
