ECOSOC President Thapa Meets Qatari Minister, Discusses Development Cooperation at LLDC3

Kathmandu: The President of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), Lok Bahadur Thapa, met with Qatar’s Minister of State for International Cooperation, Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, on the sidelines of the UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3).

Their discussion covered bridging key divides, advancing social and sustainable development, the Second World Summit for Social Development (WSSD2), follow-up on the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development (FFD4), and strengthening partnerships and accountability.

The meeting also reviewed avenues of cooperation between the State of Qatar and ECOSOC and discussed preparations for Qatar’s hosting of the Second World Summit for Social Development in November 2025.
