Kathmandu: Lok Bahadur Thapa, President of the United Nations Economic and Social Council, met with Sivanka Dhanapala, Director of the UNHCR New York Office, to discuss refugee protection and humanitarian cooperation.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on UNHCR’s work in supporting refugees and strengthening the humanitarian-development nexus. They also discussed UNHCR’s engagement with ECOSOC, including the upcoming Humanitarian Affairs Segment and the High-Level Political Forum.
Both sides highlighted the importance of continued cooperation to address global refugee challenges.
