Kathmandu: Lok Bahadur Thapa, the President of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) met with young leaders from Asia and the Pacific, emphasizing the important role of youth in global decision-making.
During the meeting, the ECOSOC President Thapa said that young people must not only be heard but also actively involved in shaping policies that affect their future. The President called for joint efforts to ensure that the promises made under the Pact for the Future and the Declaration on Future Generations result in real and meaningful progress for today’s youth and future generations.
Thapa also expressed anticipation for meeting young leaders again at the ECOSOC Youth Forum, scheduled to take place in April in New York.
