Kathmandu: President of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), Lok Bahadur Thapa, welcomed youth scientists and innovators from the North American Youth Food Lab at Pennsylvania State University on February 17.
During the meeting, the young innovators presented their projects and partnerships focused on bacteria in hydroponic farming, improving seed-embedded paper manufacturing, and the use of satellite technology and artificial intelligence in agro-industrial farming, among other initiatives.
President Thapa reiterated the importance of meaningful youth engagement in transforming global agrifood systems and encouraged continued innovation and collaboration in the sector.
