Embassy of Nepal Organizes ‘Nepal Night 2026’ in Madrid

Kathmandu: The Embassy of Nepal organized ‘Nepal Night 2026’ at Hotel InterContinental Madrid on July 6. The objective of the programme is to promote Nepal as a tourism destination for Spanish travelers. The program showcased Nepal’s natural beauty, rich cultural diversity, historical legacy, and profound religious heritage. 

Welcoming the participants, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy, Purak Adhikari, highlighted Nepal’s unique identity as the home of the world’s highest peaks, pristine  Himalayan landscapes, centuries-old cultural traditions, and UNESCO World Heritage Sites.  

The Chargé d’Affaires also delivered a comprehensive overview of Nepal’s  tourism sector, highlighting the country’s diverse tourism offerings, including world-class  adventure activities such as trekking, mountaineering, rafting, paragliding, and jungle safaris, as well as its renowned pilgrimage sites, vibrant festivals, rich biodiversity, traditional arts and architecture, authentic cuisine, and community-based tourism experiences. The presentation also emphasized Nepal’s warm hospitality and the Government of Nepal’s continued efforts to enhance tourism infrastructure and visitor services. Participants were encouraged to promote Nepal as a unique and memorable destination for Spanish travelers. The presentation was followed by an interactive question-and-answer session. 

A promotional video of Nepal was also screened during the event, further highlighting  the country’s diverse tourism products and its immense potential as a year-round destination for travelers seeking adventure, spirituality, culture, and nature. 

The program concluded with a networking dinner, providing participants with an opportunity to engage directly with Embassy officials and exchange ideas on promoting Nepal as a preferred destination for Spanish and international tourists. At the end of the program, participants took part in a symbolic poster signing ceremony, reaffirming their commitment to promoting Nepal’s tourism and strengthening tourism exchanges between Nepal and Spain. 

The program was attended by representatives of tour and travel agencies, media organizations, and government institutions.
