European Union Marks 25 Years of Everything But Arms (EBA) Initiative

Kathmandu: The European Union in Nepal marked 25 years of EU’s Everything But Arms (EBA) initiative on November 4.  The event, described as a “milestone,” was attended by Hon. Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Deepak Kumar Sah and members of Nepal’s export community, according a social media post by the EU Delegation to Nepal.

EBA allows Nepal and several Least Developed Countries (LDCs) to benefit from duty-free and quota-free access to the EU market, EU in Nepal said. “As we celebrate EBA’s impact in strengthening EU–Nepal trade ties, we also look ahead to the EU’s renewed Generalised Scheme of Preferences (GSP) and the opportunities it holds for Nepal’s export future,” the EU Delegation mentioned.
