Kathmandu: Everest Summiteers Summit has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Everest summiteer Kabita Nepali, appointing her as the Public Relations (PR) Representative for Everest Summiteers Summit 2026.
The MoU was formalized during a press meet held at Aarya Hotel & Spa, Kathmandu. The event marked a key step in strengthening the Summit’s communication, outreach, and public engagement efforts. Everest Alliance Nepal had earlier announced the dates and vision of the Summit and officially opened participant registration through a separate press briefing.
The Everest Summiteers Summit 2026 is scheduled for May 27, 2026, in Kathmandu, coinciding with International Everest Day.
Kabita Nepali successfully summited Mount Everest on May 18, 2025, and is widely recognized for her inspiring journey marked by resilience, discipline, and determination. Her appointment reflects Everest Alliance Nepal’s commitment to engaging credible voices who embody the spirit of mountaineering and environmental responsibility.
Under the agreement, Nepali will represent Everest Alliance Nepal and the Everest Summiteers Summit at national and international platforms, support strategic public relations and outreach initiatives, and advocate for sustainable mountaineering, waste management, mountain conservation, responsible tourism, and environmental awareness in the Himalayan region.
Speaking at the event, representatives of Everest Alliance Nepal said the partnership goes beyond a ceremonial role and represents a shared commitment to protecting the Himalayas and promoting responsible narratives around mountain ecosystems.
Initiated by Everest Alliance Nepal, the Everest Summiteers Summit is a global platform that brings together Everest summiteers, policymakers, conservation organizations, industry leaders, diplomats, and international partners. The first edition, held in 2025 at Soaltee Hotel, Kathmandu, saw participation from 154 Everest summiteers from 12 countries, along with government officials, diplomats, conservation institutions, and extensive national and international media.
The 2026 edition aims to further strengthen global dialogue on climate change, sustainable tourism, waste management, and mountain ecosystem conservation, reinforcing Nepal’s leadership in global mountain discourse.
Everest Alliance Nepal also expressed its appreciation to the media fraternity for its continued support in highlighting issues related to mountain sustainability and conservation.
