Kathmandu: In celebration of its 80th anniversary, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations in Nepal, in partnership with the Government of Nepal (GoN) and the Ministry of Tourism, Forests, and Environment (MoTFE), organized a “Tree Plantation Ceremony” on July 14.
Attending the ceremony as the Chief Guest, Ken Shimizu, FAO Country Representative for Bhutan and Nepal, took part in the plantation as well.
As part of the ceremony, more than 800,000 trees were planted in the FLB eastern hills areas as well as in the Building a Resilient Churia Region in Nepal (BRCRN) areas, showing their commitment to environmental sustainability, climate resilience, and a greener future for everyone.
