Kathmandu: Female Ambassadors based in Islamabad came together today to mark the global campaign of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, issuing a strong message against the rising trend of online abuse targeting women and girls on November 25.
With the rallying call “There is #NoExcusefor Online Abuse!”, the diplomats emphasized that digital platforms must be safe, inclusive, and empowering spaces—free from harassment, intimidation, and discrimination.
The Ambassadors highlighted that online abuse is not just a virtual problem but a real-world threat that silences women, restricts their participation, and pushes them out of digital spaces. “The digital world should offer opportunity, not fear and abuse,” they stated, underscoring the urgent need for collective action to make online environments secure for all. Nepal’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Rita Dhital, also participated in the global campaign.
The message aligns with the global movement that runs annually from November 25 to December 10, aimed at raising awareness, driving advocacy, and fostering commitments to end gender-based violence in all its forms.
