Kathmandu: Hon. Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shisir Khanal, received a telephone call from the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom, Ed Miliband.
During the call, Secretary Miliband conveyed his profound condolences on the loss of lives caused by the devastating flood yesterday and expressed solidarity with the people and the Government of Nepal. He also expressed the strong support of the UK Government in helping Nepal cope with the situation and inquired about the ongoing rescue efforts, including search of missing British nationals.
Minister Khanal highlighted the ongoing search and rescue efforts being carried out by the Government of Nepal and expressed his sincere thanks for the UK government’s willingness to support Nepal at this difficult hour.
