KATHMANDU: Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba held a meeting with Israeli Ambassador to Nepal, Shmulik Arie Bass, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) on June 16 to discuss the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran and the latest developments. Ambassador Bass briefed the Minister on the current situation and the escalation of tensions in the region.
During the meeting, Minister Dr. Rana inquired about the safety of Nepali citizens residing in the conflict-affected areas and urged the Israeli government, through Ambassador Bass, to ensure necessary support and a safe environment for them. Ambassador Bass assured that Nepalis currently living in Israel are safe.
Earlier on Sunday, the MoFA had issued a statement confirming the safety of Nepalis in both Israel and Iran. In light of the escalating situation, Minister Dr. Rana had also reached out to the Nepali ambassadors in Tel Aviv and Doha, directing them to prioritize the security and well-being of Nepali nationals.
The Ministry has reiterated that it is closely monitoring the situation and remains prepared to take appropriate measures to ensure the safety of Nepalis in the affected regions.
