Foreign Minister Dr. Rana Meets Visiting Vice President of Vietnam Vo Thi Anh Xuan

Kathmandu: Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, paid a courtesy call on visiting Vice President of Vietnam, Vo Thi Anh Xuan, in Kathmandu on Saturday.

The meeting was held in a warm and cordial atmosphere, during which the Vice President and the Foreign Minister exchanged views on enhancing air connectivity, promoting high-level exchanges, and advancing tourism cooperation, the Foreign Ministry stated.

After the meeting, Foreign Minister Dr. Rana shared that she had congratulated the Vice President on Vietnam’s rapid economic growth and development, expressing Nepal’s keen interest in strengthening its partnership with Vietnam across sectors. She added that valuable insights were exchanged on increasing people-to-people connectivity via operating flights in Gautam Buddha and Pokhara International Airports from both countries.

At the cordial invitation of Vice President of Nepal Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan arrived in Nepal for a three-day official visit. Foreign Minister Dr. Rana welcomed her at Tribhuvan International Airport. This will mark the first-ever highest-level visit from Vietnam to Nepal.

During her stay, Vice President Xuan and Vice President Yadav will lead their respective delegations at the Nepal-Vietnam bilateral meeting on August 24 in Kathmandu. She will also call on and hold courtesy meetings with high-level dignitaries of Nepal.

The visit carries added significance as Nepal and Vietnam celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year.

Vice President Xuan will conclude her official engagements in Nepal and depart for Hanoi on August 25, 2025.
