Foreign Secretary Rai Calls for the Implementation of ‘Sevilla Commitment’

Kathmandu: Foreign Secretary of Nepal Amrit Bahadur Rai called for the implementation of ‘Sevilla Commitment’, during the sidelines events of FFD4 in Spain.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Secretary Rai addressed as a panelist the side event titled ‘Biodiversity finance: the missing link for addressing non-economic loss and damage’, co-organized by Nepal and Armenia.

In the event, he highlighted Nepal’s commitment to biodiversity through forest protection and community-led conservation. Secretary Rai also called for increased, accessible, and coherent biodiversity finance aligned with global climate goals, including through the implementation of the ‘Sevilla Commitment’.
