"Nepal is actively promoting digital health transformation through our National Digital Health Strategy," Minister Paudel said.

Kathmandu: Minister for Health and Population Pradip Paudel represented Nepal at the Boao Forum for Asia Global Health Forum 2025 held in Beijing from July 24-25.

The conference, themed “New Future of Health Industry: Driven by Innovation,” brought together global leaders to discuss health challenges and opportunities driven by technological change.

In his plenary address, Minister Paudel emphasized the transformative potential of modern technology in reducing healthcare costs, improving diagnostics, and enhancing system management. He noted that such innovations are vital for expanding care to underserved populations. Highlighting Nepal’s National Digital Health Strategy, he called for stronger global collaboration in knowledge sharing and capacity building to ensure equitable access to emerging technologies.

“Nepal is actively promoting digital health transformation through our National Digital Health Strategy and we need stronger collaboration among the countries in knowledge exchange, and capacity building for the equitable use of technologies,” he said.

Paudel also participated in a panel discussion on health and climate change. He urged the international community to treat climate-induced health risks as an urgent global priority and outlined Nepal’s preparedness efforts, including its Health National Adaptation Plan and updated Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).

On the sidelines, Minister Paudel met Shen Hongbin, Director of China’s National Disease Control and Prevention Administration, to discuss bilateral cooperation, including support for vector-borne disease research in Hetauda and neuro-treatment centers in Nepal.

He also interacted with the Nepali diaspora in Beijing before returning to Kathmandu on July 27.
