Kathmandu: Sushil Gyewali, Chief Executive Officer of the Investment Board Nepal (IBN), represented Nepal at the 10th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF 2025) in Vladivostok.
He participated in an expert session on “Global South and East: Who Will Lead the New Growth Economy,” where he underlined Nepal’s investment potential in hydropower and clean energy, its young and tech-oriented population, and its natural and cultural heritage that make it an attractive tourism destination.
Gyewali also stressed that Russia’s strengths in science, technology, and investment could complement these areas, fostering opportunities for mutual growth. Highlighting Nepal’s strategic location, he pointed out the country’s potential to serve as a gateway for trade between India and China, two of the world’s largest and fastest-growing economies.
The session also featured prominent speakers, including Maksim Reshetnikov, Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Kan Zaw, Union Minister of Finance and Revenue of Myanmar, Herman Gref, CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank,Sergey Sidorov, Deputy Director General of FESCO, Wen Wang, Dean of the Renmin University Chongyang Institute, and Vittoriya Idrisova, Rector of the Russian Foreign Trade Academy.
