ICC Brings Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Trophy to Nepal as Part of Global Tour

Kathmandu: The International Cricket Council (ICC) showcased the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 trophy in Nepal as part of its official global trophy tour, highlighting the growing popularity of cricket in the country.

The trophy arrived in Kathmandu on January 5 and was formally unveiled by President Ram Chandra Poudel at the President’s Office, Sheetal Niwas. Following the unveiling, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) began displaying the trophy at various locations across the country to engage cricket fans.

On January 6, the trophy was presented during a public interaction and photo session with cricket enthusiasts in Pokhara in the morning. Later in the evening, it was showcased at the NSJF Sports Summit organized by the Nepal Sports Journalists Forum, attracting sports officials, journalists and fans.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka, with the tournament scheduled to begin on February 7. Nepal is among the participating teams in the tournament.

The trophy tour is part of the ICC’s pre-tournament outreach programme, with visits planned to several countries including Qatar, Oman, Nepal, Bahrain and Mongolia to promote the game and build excitement ahead of the World Cup.
