Kathmandu: International Labour Organization (ILO) Nepal collaborated with the Nepal Statistics Office (NSO) to advance the Nepal Labour Force Survey IV (2026.27), a vital initiative to generate updated, reliable, inclusive and comprehensive national labour market data.
The organization stated that as Nepal prepares for LDC graduation and the government has prioritized employment creations and expansion of social security coverage, this survey will provide crucial post-pandemic insights to guide evidence-based policymaking to fulfil those aspirations. An early review workshop in Chitwan assembled 80 field enumerators and supervisors together with 15 responsible NSO officials to identify challenges in data collection, survey questionnaire, the CAPI system and other practical issues. The review workshop was critical to identify issues and challenges at the early stage of the survey and to resolve them in order to ensure quality and reliability of data together with efficiency of the survey.
This effort has helped in enhancing data quality, improve the efficiency of digital tools, and ensure the timely completion of the survey.
