ILO-Led Observance Promotes Fairness and Workers’ Rights Worldwide

Kathmandu: The World Day of Social Justice is being observed across the globe today with a variety of programmes and awareness activities aimed at promoting equality and fairness in society.

The day is commemorated annually under the auspices of the International Labour Organization (ILO). It was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly through a resolution adopted on November 26, 2007, and has been observed each year on February 20 since 2009.

The observance seeks to mobilize the international community to work collectively toward advancing social justice, ensuring equal opportunities, safeguarding labour rights, and promoting decent work for all.
