India-Supported School and Hostel Buildings Inaugurated in Pyuthan

Kathmandu: School and Hostel Buildings Inaugurated in Pyuthan Under India’s HICDP Support
Kathmandu: The newly constructed school and hostel buildings of Shree Dang-Bang Secondary School in Airawati Rural Municipality-1, Amilee, Pyuthan, were jointly inaugurated on November 19 under the High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) funded by the Government of India.
The buildings were inaugurated by Nabil Vikram Shah, Chairperson of Airawati Rural Municipality and Gitanjali Brandon, Counsellor at the Embassy of India in Kathmandu. The ceremony was attended by political leaders, government officials, social workers, teachers, students, and parents.

According to the Indian Embassy, the Government of India’s grant assistance supported the construction of the school and hostel structures along with necessary allied facilities. The project was carried out in coordination with Airawati Rural Municipality.
Shree Dang-Bang Secondary School is regarded as one of the leading public schools in rural Pyuthan. The school currently provides education from Early Childhood Development (ECD/Playgroup) to Grade 10, serving 234 students—around 60 percent of whom are girls.
Local representatives, the school management committee, and other stakeholders expressed gratitude for India’s continued development support. They said the newly built infrastructure will significantly enhance the learning environment and improve access to quality education for students in the region. The hostel facility, in particular, is expected to benefit children from remote communities.
“As close neighbours, India and Nepal continue to collaborate across multiple sectors,” the Embassy stated, adding that High Impact Community Development Projects demonstrate India’s ongoing commitment to supporting Nepal in its development priorities and strengthening grassroots infrastructure
