Kathmandu: The Indian government is going to rescue 11 Nepali citizens who are in trouble in Iran due to the Israel-Iran war. At the request of the Nepali government, the Indian embassy in Tehran is going to rescue them. Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba had requested the Indian government to rescue and bring back Nepalis as well as their citizens as there are 16 Nepali citizens in Iran. Out of 16, 11 Nepali are going to evacuate from Iran.
Foreign Minister Dr. Rana has requested the Indian government through Naveen Srivastava, Indian Ambassador in Kathmandu, to rescue Nepalis as they are rescuing their citizens here. Earlier, Minister Dr. Rana had requested the Indian government to rescue Nepalis who are in Iran due to the ongoing Israel-Iran war for the past few days. For this purpose, Minister Dr. Rana had also instructed Nepali Ambassador to India Dr. Shankar Sharma to make the necessary coordination.
After the Indian Embassy in Iran accepted Nepal’s request, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today contacted the Nepalis in Iran and asked them to contact the Indian Embassy, and the Indian Embassy in Iran has also issued a notice to this effect.
Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lok Bahadur Poudel Chhetri is in contact and coordinating with the Nepalis there and DCM of the Indian Embassy in Iran Rakhi Mayuri.
Along with this, the Indian Embassy has also asked Nepal and Sri Lankan citizens there to contact them. Out of the 16 Nepalis, five Nepalis are in Iranian prisons due to immigration laws, and the Ministry is continuing its initiative to release them and repatriate them.
