Kathmandu: Renowned Indian film personalities Amol Palekar, Illa Arun, Sandhya Gokhale, and Prajakta Koli will participate in the 4th edition of the Kathmandu Kalinga Literary Festival (KLF), scheduled for September 13–14, 2024, at Hotel Yak and Yeti, Kathmandu.
The festival will feature sessions with actor-director Amol Palekar and writer Sandhya Gokhale on Palekar’s memoir Viewfinder. Illa Arun will speak about her recently published biography, while digital creator and actress Prajakta Koli, named among TIME100’s most influential digital voices, will share insights on her book published by HarperCollins.
Film and music scholar Yatindra Mishra, known for his writings on Lata Mangeshkar and Gulzar, will also speak at the event.
Over 300 writers from South Asia, including Nepal, India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, are expected to attend. Themed “Beyond Borders: South Asian Literature in a Changing World,” the festival will explore the evolving role of South Asian literature in global discourse.
Organized by Jeewan Jyoti Digital Care Nepal in collaboration with KLF India, the event aims to strengthen literary and cultural ties across the region, celebrating the shared heritage of Lord Shiva and Gautama Buddha.
