IRGDD Advances Strategic Dialogue on Nepal’s Economic Diplomacy and Trade

Kathmandu: Ambassador Dr. Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal, President of the International Relations & Global Diplomacy Dialogue (IRGDD) and Ambassadors’ Club Nepal, paid a courtesy call on Hon. Gauri Kumari Yadav, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Government of Nepal.

The meeting focused on strategies to strengthen Nepal’s economy through people-centred economic diplomacy, international partnerships and Track 1.5 and Track 2 diplomatic engagement, with particular attention to addressing Nepal’s persistent trade imbalance and strengthening the country’s international economic position.

Amb. Dr. Parajuli Dhakal highlighted the role of IRGDD, Ambassadors’ Club Nepal and Diplomat Nepal as platforms for connecting Nepal with diplomatic missions, international institutions, experts, businesses and investors, while enhancing Nepal’s soft power, economic diplomacy and international visibility.

She emphasised that IRGDD is committed to providing evidence-based policy research, strategic recommendations and Track 1.5 diplomacy platforms that bring together government, diplomats, academia, the private sector and international stakeholders in support of Nepal’s national economic interests.

Mr. Bimal Dhakal, Co-Founder of IRGDD, and officials from the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies were also present during the meeting.
