Kathmandu: Ambassador Dr Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal, of the International Relations and Global Diplomacy Dialogue (IRGDD), held a meeting with Deepak Raj Joshi, Chief Executive Officer of the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), to discuss strengthening Nepal’s tourism promotion through diplomatic and institutional collaboration.
During the meeting, the two exchanged views on enhancing Nepal’s image as a premier tourist destination by leveraging the IRGDD’s work in collaboration with NTB. They discussed potential joint initiatives to promote Nepal’s rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, adventure tourism, and emerging tourism products in the international arena.
Dr. Parajuli emphasized the importance of diplomatic engagement in fostering people-to-people connections and attracting quality tourism to Nepal. She noted that the IRGDD could serve as a bridge between Nepal and the international community in amplifying positive tourism narratives and encouraging cross-border exchanges.
CEO Joshi highlighted NTB’s ongoing efforts to revive and diversify Nepal’s tourism sector and welcomed closer cooperation with the IRGDD. He underlined the value of partnerships with diplomatic circles to expand Nepal’s outreach, particularly in new and non-traditional source markets. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to explore collaborative programs and events aimed at promoting sustainable tourism growth and strengthening Nepal’s global tourism presence.
