Kathmandu: The Embassy of Israel in Nepal facilitated a humanitarian initiative in which four Israeli optometrists provided vision care to hundreds of residents, including children and the elderly, in remote villages around Ghatichhina, Pokhara-23.
Following their visit two months ago, the optometrists, M. Yosifovich, Y. Segal, N. Weiss, and D. Golduser—returned to Israel to prepare prescription eyeglasses, which were sent to Nepal. The Eyeglasses Handover Program took place on February 5, during which Ms. Janan Bebar, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Israeli Embassy, formally distributed the eyeglasses to the beneficiaries. She also interacted with local residents and Nepali partners involved in the project.
The initiative highlights strong people-to-people ties between Israel and Nepal and demonstrates Israel’s commitment to supporting community well-being through professional expertise and collaboration.
