Kathmandu: Marking the 10th anniversary of the “Cultural and Tourism Exchange Agreement between World Heritage Cities” signed in 2015 between Lumbini and Koya, Governor Miyazaki of Wakayama Prefecture and Mayor Hirano of Koya Town visited Nepal.
On February 16, the Governor of Wakayama Prefecture and the CEO of the Nepal Tourism Board signed a Memorandum of Understanding on tourism cooperation between Wakayama Prefecture, Japan and the Nepal Tourism Board.
The MoU signing ceremony was witnessed by Ambassador Maeda Toru and Anil Kumar Sinha, Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.
The agreement is expected to further promote tourism exchange and strengthen cultural ties between Japan and Nepal, reflecting the shared Buddhist heritage that connects the two nations.
