Japan Hands Over New School Building in Jajarkot

Jajarkot — A handover ceremony for a newly constructed school building at Shree Beri Tribeni Secondary School was held in Jajarkot district on May 26

The project was supported by the Government of Japan under its Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) scheme with financial assistance of USD 170,159 (approximately NPR 22.7 million). The construction was implemented by Volunteer Corps Nepal, a non-profit organization established in 2018.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Chief of Mission Mr. Shinto expressed hope that the new facility would provide students with a safe and conducive learning environment. He also stated that the school building would serve as a long-lasting symbol of friendship between the people of Japan and Nepal.

The newly completed infrastructure is expected to improve educational conditions for students and support the local community’s efforts toward quality education in the earthquake-affected district.
