Japanese Ambassador Maeda Attends JDS Social Program, Meets Alumni

Kathmandu: Japanese Ambassador Maeda attended the JDS Social Program on February 16 and met with alumni who studied in Japan under the Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship (JDS).

The program was attended by Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal, Sumanraj Aryal; President of the JDS Alumni Association Nepal (JDSAAN), Gokarna Mani Duwadee; joint secretaries; representatives of various Japan-related associations; professors from Japanese universities; and many JDS alumni.

During the event, Chief Secretary Aryal expressed gratitude for the continued support of the Government of Japan in the field of human resource development. Representatives of the JDS alumni shared their commitment to utilizing the knowledge and experience gained in Japan for Nepal’s development and to further strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries.

Ambassador Maeda said that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Nepal. He expressed hope that JDS alumni and JDSAAN would organize and participate in various events, in collaboration with other Japan-related alumni organizations in Nepal, to further deepen friendship between the two nations.
