Kathmandu: The Embassy of Japan in Nepal celebrated Japan’s National Day on February 11 with a reception hosted by Maeda Toru, Ambassador of Japan to Nepal, at his official residence in Tahachal. The event marked the 66th Auspicious Birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan.
Around 380 guests attended the event, including Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, Vice President of Nepal, as the Chief Guest. Honorable ministers, former prime ministers and ministers, ambassadors, heads of international organizations in Nepal, government officials, and friends of Japan were also present.
In his remarks, Ambassador Maeda highlighted the recent visit of the Right Honourable President Ramchandra Paudel to Japan from February 1 to 5, held in conjunction with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Nepal. He noted that the visit reaffirmed the longstanding friendship between the two nations and opened avenues for deeper cooperation in the years ahead.
The Ambassador reiterated Japan’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties and expressed hope for expanded collaboration toward shared goals of peace, prosperity, and sustainable development.
