Kathmandu: The Korea Visa Application Center (KVAC) was officially inaugurated in Kathmandu on December 12, 2025, aiming to make the Republic of Korea’s visa application process more convenient and accessible for Nepali applicants.
The opening ceremony was held at the OneSky Building in Lalitpur in the presence of Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Nepal Park Tae-young, CEO of HanaTour Song Mi-sun, officials from Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and representatives of the business community.
Operated by HanaTour, the KVAC has been established in response to a growing number of visa applications driven by increasing bilateral exchanges between Nepal and Korea. Speaking at the event, Song said HanaTour brings over 30 years of experience in travel and visa services and has previously managed visa centers in countries including China, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
The center, strategically located in Lalitpur, has extended visa application hours until 4:00 pm on weekdays, while telephone consultation services will be available until 9:00 pm. It also offers multiple payment options, region-specific services, applicant computer workstations, and a VIP room.
A KVAC representative said the center will provide standardized yet localized services, supported by a pre-reservation system and a centralized call center, to ensure easier access to accurate visa information and real-time application tracking.
The center currently offers value-added services such as SMS tracking and courier delivery, with plans to expand services based on future demand. The KVAC is set to begin full operations from December 17, 2025, and is expected to support growing visa demand while promoting people-to-people and economic exchanges between Nepal and the Republic of Korea.
