Korean Ambassador Park Reviews Agricultural Cooperation and Potato Research at KOPIA Nepal

Kathmandu: The Ambassador of South Korea to Nepal, Park Tae-Young, paid a visit to the Korea Programme on International Agriculture (KOPIA) Nepal Office on October 10.

The KOPIA office was officially inaugurated on May 29, 2025.

During the visit, Ambassador Park received a briefing from Director Jung Mi-hye on ongoing research initiatives, including potato variety development, virus eradication, and collaborative projects with the Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development. He was also updated on staffing progress and facility installations.

The ambassador toured the potato demonstration field and greenhouses, discussing plans to expand the distribution of seed potatoes through exemplary farmers. He also explored ways to enhance potato productivity and promote self-sufficiency in Nepal, while strengthening agricultural cooperation and contributing to Korea’s positive image in the country.
