Bhadrapur (Jhapa): The ‘Koshi Pathibhara Indo-Nepal T-20 Championship Cup’ cricket tournament will be held at the playground of Mechi Multiple Campus, Bhadrapur, from February 4 to 12.
Eight teams from Nepal and India will participate in the tournament, and all preparations have been completed, according to organizing committee coordinator Manoj Subba.
Nepali teams taking part include host Bhadrapur Cricket Club, Gandaki Heroes Pokhara, Great Himalayan Cricket Academy Kathmandu, and Friends Youth Club, Dadeldhura. The Indian teams are Rhino Land Cricket Academy Assam (Guwahati), Global Star Cricket Club Lucknow, Cricket Coaching Upadhyay Academy, New Delhi, and Snow Lion Team, Sikkim.
The tournament winner will receive a cash prize of Rs 500,000, while the runner-up will receive Rs 300,000, along with trophies and medals. The Player of the Match in each game will be awarded Rs 11,000. Similarly, the best batsperson and best bowler will receive Rs 25,000 each, while the Player of the Tournament will receive Rs 51,000 and a trophy, the organizers said.
The tournament will be organized in a league-cum-knockout format, with the eight teams divided into two groups. The total cost of organizing the tournament is estimated at Rs 12.2 million.
