Kathmandu: The President of NAS IT and the Executive Team held a constructive meeting with Amb. Dr. Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal and the team from the International Relations and Global Diplomacy Dialogue (IRGDD) to discuss collaboration in the area of ICT development and digital transformation.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on the ongoing global trends in the digital economy, emphasizing the importance of strong digital infrastructure, cybersecurity capacity, innovation ecosystems, and international technological cooperation.

Dr. Sarmila highlighted Nepal’s emerging opportunities in the global ICT market, noting the country’s growing pool of skilled tech talent, increasing startup ecosystem, and strong potential for green-energy-powered digital infrastructure such as data centers.
The discussion also focused on the importance of developing forward-looking policies and strategic frameworks that can support Nepal’s integration into the global digital economy, attract international technology partnerships, and promote investment in the ICT sector.
Both NAS IT and IRGDD expressed their commitment to continued dialogue and collaboration, particularly in areas such as digital infrastructure development, cybersecurity cooperation, capacity building for Nepali ICT professionals, technology transfer and innovation partnerships, strengthening Nepal’s digital capabilities, and policy advocacy. The meeting concluded with a shared understanding to explore practical initiatives and partnerships that can support Nepal’s digital transformation and global technological engagement.
