Kathmandu: The Ministry of Finance has mandatorily implemented the Government Integrated Office Management System (GIOMS) starting September 26, 2025. Finance Minister Rameshwor Prasad Khanal officially rolled out the system by approving the first file with a digital signature, replacing the traditional paper-based process.
Developed by the Department of Information Technology under the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, GIOMS is designed to speed up decision-making, improve transparency and accountability, and advance digital governance.
The platform will now be used for issuing letters, decision-making notes, letter registration and dispatch, attendance tracking, leave approvals, and record management. All such functions will be carried out through GIOMS with digital signatures, marking a major step toward paperless governance.
