Kathmandu: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), in collaboration with the Investment Board Nepal (IBN), organized a virtual interactive programme with Heads of Nepali Missions in Europe, North America and South America on investment promotion in Nepal.

Addressing the programme, Minister for Foreign Affairs Bala Nanda Sharma directed the Heads of Missions to prioritize economic diplomacy and focus their activities on promoting investment in Nepal.
Officials from the Investment Board Nepal made a presentation on the current status of foreign direct investment in Nepal, highlighting opportunities, challenges and future prospects. Chief Executive Officer of IBN, Sushil Gyewali, outlined key aspects of Nepal’s investment climate.

Foreign Secretary Amrit Rai emphasized the need to further strengthen economic diplomacy to attract increased foreign investment. Joint Secretary and Head of the International Economic Relations Division at the Ministry of Finance, Dhani Ram Sharma, spoke on Nepal’s policies and priorities for investment promotion.
Senior officials from the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Investment Board Nepal and Nepali Missions from the concerned regions participated in the programme.
