MoFA Issues Travel Advisory for Nepalis Traveling to Middle East

The Ministry has specifically urged those preparing to go to Israel or Iran for work or other reasons to postpone their travel until the situation stabilizes.

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has issued a travel advisory for Nepali citizens to travel to Israel, Iran, or other Middle Eastern countries following the developments in the past few days due to the conflict between Israel and Iran.

The Ministry issued a Press Release on June 18 advising Nepali citizens planning to travel to Israel, Iran, or other Middle Eastern countries, particularly for foreign employment, to reconsider their plans due to the ongoing complex situation in the region.

The Ministry has specifically urged those preparing to go to Israel or Iran for work or other reasons to postpone their travel until the situation stabilizes. It also recommends that individuals planning to travel to other Middle Eastern countries delay their trips for the time being.

While assuring that Nepali citizens currently in Israel and Iran are safe, the government stated that it is closely monitoring developments and will take necessary steps to ensure their well-being. The Ministry also mentioned that those wishing to return to Nepal from Israel or Iran may need a transit visa from a third country, as direct return routes may not be available.

Nepali nationals in Israel and Iran have been advised to prioritize their safety by staying indoors or in shelters and only venturing out at designated times. They are encouraged to follow all safety guidelines and updates issued by local authorities.

Similarly, the MoFA has urged citizens to maintain regular communication with the Nepali community and the Embassy, stay updated through official sources, and register their personal details through an online form available on the websites of the Ministry, the Department of Consular Services, and the Nepali Embassy in Tel Aviv to facilitate support and evacuation if needed.
