Kathmandu: Dr. Shivamaya Tumbahangphe, Nepal’s Ambassador to South Korea, has been honored with the ‘Best Ambassador Award’ by the Korea Consumer Global Council at a special ceremony held in Seoul.
Out of 116 diplomatic missions and embassies representing various countries in South Korea, ambassadors from three nations Nepal, Peru, and Kyrgyzstan were selected for the prestigious recognition.The award ceremony was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, business leaders, and community representatives, according to the Embassy of Nepal in Seoul.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Dr. Tumbahangphe described the honor as not only a personal achievement but also a recognition of the entire Nepali community engaged in diverse professions across South Korea. She expressed confidence that the award would further strengthen the longstanding ties between Nepal and South Korea.
Highlighting the milestone of 50 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Ambassador Tumbahangphe noted that Nepal and South Korea have maintained consistent cooperation, collaboration, and friendly relations over the decades. She reaffirmed her commitment to deepening bilateral engagement and exploring new opportunities in economic, social, cultural, and labor sectors in the years ahead.The ambassadors of Peru and Kyrgyzstan were also recognized during the ceremony for their contributions to consumer advocacy, international cooperation, and the promotion of bilateral relations, the organizers stated.
