Nepal and Kuwait Seal Bilateral Cricket Deal

Kathmandu: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) and the Kuwait Cricket Board have entered into a principal agreement to launch an annual bilateral cricket series for both Men’s and Women’s teams, starting from 2026.

As part of the agreement, the two nations will host each other in a home-and-away format, featuring a minimum of three T20 Internationals along with additional 50-over matches each year.

According to CAN, the collaboration aims to boost international exposure and competitive opportunities for Associate nations, while also strengthening regional cricketing ties. Moreover, the partnership also comes at a timely moment, with Nepal having recently competed in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 and Kuwait preparing for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Asia Regional Qualifiers.

The initiative also carries cultural significance, deepening the connection between the two countries, particularly with a strong Nepali community based in Kuwait.

With both teams grouped for the 2026 Asia Regional Qualifiers, the bilateral series is poised to intensify their on-field rivalry and contribute significantly to the growth and development of cricket in both nations.
