Kathmandu: Nepal have announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, aiming to make a strong impact on the global stage.
Rohit Paudel has been named captain of the side, with Dipendra Singh Airee appointed as vice-captain. The 23-year-old Paudel continues to lead Nepal after playing a key role in the team’s recent progress, while Dipendra’s all-round abilities remain crucial in the shortest format of the game.
Nepal’s squad features a mix of experience and young talent. Leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane will lead the spin attack, supported by left-arm spinner Lalit Rajbanshi and part-time spin options from Dipendra Singh Airee and Basir Ahamad.
All-rounders Dipendra, Gulshan Jha, Aarif Sheikh and Sompal Kami add depth and balance to the squad. At the top of the order, Kushal Bhurtel is expected to provide aggressive starts, while Aasif Sheikh will handle wicketkeeping duties. Lokesh Bam, Sundeep Jora and Nandan Yadav strengthen the middle order.
The pace attack will be led by Sompal Kami and Karan KC, with support from Nandan Yadav and Sher Malla.
Nepal were eliminated in the group stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 after failing to secure a win in four matches.
