Kathmandu: The Government of Nepal has expressed deep sorrow over the recent floods in Sri Lanka, which have caused significant loss of life and widespread destruction. In a message of solidarity, Nepal conveyed its heartfelt sympathies to the Government and people of Sri Lanka during this difficult time.
Nepal extended condolences to the families who lost their loved ones and wished a swift and full recovery to those injured in the disaster.
As a gesture of support, the Government of Nepal announced an assistance of US$ 200,000 to aid relief and recovery efforts in Sri Lanka.
Reaffirming its close bilateral ties, Nepal stated its confidence in the resilience and strength of the Sri Lankan people as they work toward recovery and rebuilding.
