Nepal-India Kanchenjunga Expedition Honored The Expedition Team

The recognition was followed by the team’s remarkable achievement of successfully summiting Mt. Kanchenjunga.

Kathmandu: Under the Nepal-India Joint Kanchenjunga Mountain Expedition-2025, a 15-member team comprising 10 personnel from the Nepali Army and 5 from the Indian Army was decorated by the Commander-in-Chief, General Ashok Raj Sigdel, on June 6 to celebrate the remarkable success in the mountain climbing.

The recognition was followed by the team’s remarkable achievement of successfully summiting Mt. Kanchenjunga, the world’s third-highest peak, on May 19 and 20.

Moreover, the expedition’s Flag-Off Ceremony was held on April 3 in New Delhi, India, in the presence of the Indian Defense Minister. Subsequently, the Flag-In Ceremony took place on June 2 at the Army Headquarters, with the Minister of Defense, Manbir Rai, as the chief guest.
