Kathmandu: The Government of Nepal has issued a travel advisory advising Nepali citizens to postpone any plans to travel to Iran in view of the unfolding developments in the country on January 18. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has also urged Nepali nationals currently residing or working in Iran to leave the country at the earliest possible opportunity using any available means until the situation normalizes.
The advisory further requests Nepali citizens in Iran to keep their travel documents, including passports and identity cards, ready to facilitate emergency exit if required. The Ministry has also referred citizens to its earlier travel advisory issued on January 13, 2026.
For necessary coordination and assistance, Nepali citizens are advised to contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kathmandu or the Embassy of Nepal in Doha through the provided telephone numbers and email addresses.
