Kathmandu: Nepal has launched the “Nepal Comprehensive Tourism Guard Project” (CTG), aiming to position the country as a global leader in adventure tourism insurance and emergency rescue services.
The project, led by Himalayan Guardian Nepal in collaboration with both domestic and international partners, offers a wide range of services including travel insurance, emergency rescue, health coordination, and satellite communication. It also introduces smart digital tourism platforms and adventure satellite devices designed to enhance the safety of tourists and adventure seekers across Nepal.
A key feature of the project is the integration of China’s BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, enabling precise location tracking, short message communication, and fast emergency response in remote mountain regions. The system supports rescue simulations, insurance alerts, and real-time communication, offering a revolutionary approach to safety in Nepal’s tourism sector.
Speaking at the launch event in Kathmandu Valley, Ambassador of China to Nepal Chen Song highlighted the importance of the project as a technological lifeline across Nepal’s rugged landscapes. “Adventure and safety are two sides of the same coin,” he said, emphasizing the role of bilateral cooperation in advancing tourism insurance, with partners like IGI Prudential.
He also said that the project marks a new chapter in China-Nepal collaboration, reinforcing the historic relationship with cutting-edge innovation aimed at protecting lives and promoting sustainable tourism.
