Kathmandu: Ram Chandra Paudel attended a special ceremony held at the Army Pavilion in Tundikhel, Kathmandu, to mark National Democracy Day-2082 BS.

The program, organized by the National Democracy Day Main Celebration Committee, included a ceremonial salute by the Nepali Army in honor of President Paudel, who is also its Supreme Commander. First Lady Sabita Paudel was also present. Cultural performances such as tableaux, march-past, dances, and musical shows highlighted Nepal’s heritage.

The ceremony was attended by Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Sushila Karki, National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal, ministers, diplomats, senior officials, and members of the public.

Addressing the event, Prime Minister Karki said the government is working to hold the upcoming House of Representatives elections in a free, fair, and peaceful manner, aiming to open a new era of democratic stability. She said democracy must deliver real results for people and stressed the importance of rule of law, good governance, and accountability.
