Kathmandu: Ram Kaji Khadka, Joint Secretary of Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed on September 25 that rumours about Qatar halting the issuance of work visas to Nepali citizens are baseless.
Khadka made the clarification following his meeting with Mishaal bin Mohammad Ali Al Ansari, Ambassador of Qatar to Nepal, at Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the talks, the two sides exchanged views on various aspects of Nepal-Qatar bilateral relations, with labour and employment issues featuring prominently.
“Had a fruitful meeting with H.E. Mishaal bin Ali Alansari, Ambassador of Qatar to Nepal at MoFA today,” Khadka wrote on his social media handle. He added, “We exchanged views on various matters of bilateral relations between Nepal & Qatar. Most importantly, the rumour about Qatar stop issuing work visas to Nepalis was baseless.”
