Dr. Pushkar appealed to bilateral and multilateral partners, as well as fellow member states, to enhance their support for countries in special development situations, like Nepal.

KATHMANDU: Dr. Krishna Hari Pushkar, Secretary at the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, delivered Nepal’s national statement at the 113th Session of the International Labour Conference (ILC 2025) in Geneva on June 3.

Addressing the Committee on Promoting Transitions towards Formality, Secretary Pushkar emphasised Nepal’s strong commitment to facilitating a just and inclusive transition from the informal to the formal economy. He underscored that this transition remains a national priority, rooted in inclusive labour market policies, the expansion of social security, and the strengthening of tripartite dialogue to promote democratic governance in the world of work.

Calling for international solidarity, Dr. Pushkar appealed to bilateral and multilateral partners, as well as fellow member states, to enhance their support for countries in special development situations, like Nepal. He highlighted the importance of cooperation in achieving the shared global goals of decent work, social justice, and sustainable economic transformation.

He also expressed sincere appreciation to the International Labour Organization (ILO) for providing a vital platform for global dialogue, partnership, and action.
