Nepal Receives Over 92,000 Foreign Tourists in January 2026

Kathmandu: Nepal welcomed 92,573 foreign tourists in January 2026, marking a 15.7 percent increase compared to the same month last year, according to the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).

Among the visitors, Indian tourists topped the list with 26,624 arrivals, followed by 9,101 from China, 8,406 from the United States, and 4,957 from Australia.

Tourists from SAARC countries accounted for 39.3 percent of total arrivals, while 26.1 percent came from other Asian countries, 12.3 percent from Europe, 10.8 percent from the Americas, and 5.7 percent from Oceania. The figures reflect a steady recovery and growing interest in Nepal as a tourist destination in the first month of 2026.
