KATHMANDU: Nepal has expressed deep concern over the rapidly escalating conflict between Iran and Israel. The government is closely monitoring the situation and has called on both sides to exercise restraint and pursue a conciliatory approach to ensure peace and stability in the region and beyond.
The tensions have intensified following unprecedented airstrikes by Israel targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities and military leadership. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated the operation would continue for many days, with Israel’s military reporting the deployment of 200 fighter jets. In retaliation, Iran launched over 100 drones toward Israeli territory, according to Israeli military sources.
Nepal emphasized the importance of using diplomatic channels for dialogue as a means to de-escalate the situation.
Meanwhile, Nepali Missions in Doha and Tel Aviv remain in close contact with Nepali communities in Iran and Israel. The government has advised all Nepali citizens in both countries to stay vigilant, follow local advisories, and take all necessary precautions for their safety.
